Vice President Quayle spoke before the Republican National Committee’s Winter Meeting in Washington, DC to instill enthusiasm for the coming presidential campaign. He lauded the performance of the Bush administration during its first term, criticized the activity of Congress, and joked about figures in Democratic politics including Speaker of the House Tom Foley and Hilary Clinton. Vice President Quayle called for the instant ratification of the Bush administration’s economic proposal, labelling it the only alternative to solve America’s domestic problems.
