The Los Angeles World Affairs Council met to discuss economic reform in Sweden. Per Westerberg, Sweden’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, spoke about the economic and structural changes taking place in his country. He also answered questions from the audience. Following an election the previous year, Sweden’s general elections resulted in a shift away from the nation’s socialist oriented policies. As Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Westerberg was charged with privatizing the nation’s State owned enterprises. close
