Following meetings with members of Congress on Capitol Hill, Gov. Bill Clinton, candidate for the 1992 Democratic presidential nomination, and several members of Congress held a news conference in the U.S. Capitol. Sen. Mitchell said the Democratic members of Congress were enthusiastic for the Clinton candidacy, and Gov. Clinton delivered a short statement concerning his plans for working with the Congress to “turn this country around.” Gov. Clinton and several other members responded to questions from reporters following his opening remarks. close
