Ron Brown, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, spoke to the conference of the Democratic Leadership Council in New Orleans, LA. He discussed the work the party has conducted in preparation for the 1992 elections, and discussed the strategies the party would use to win the 1992 presidential and congressional elections. The Democratic Leadership Council is an offshoot of the Democratic Party dedicated to infusing the Democratic Party with conservative values and strategies, and to installing a Democratic candidate in the White House. Gov. Bill Clinton, leading candidate for the 1992 Democratic presidential nomination, was once the chairman of the Democratic Leadership Council. close
