The House Post Office and Civil Service Subcommittee on Census and Population continued to hear testimony from demographers and social scientists in the second of a series of hearings on demographic changes in America entitled, “America’s Changing Profile.” The hearings, which began the previous day, sought to learn how America’s changing demographic profile would affect social policy in the future. The witnesses at the second hearing discussed the competing interests of rural, urban, and suburban American residents. close
