Members of the House of Representatives debated the conference report to H.R. 2507, the reauthorization for the National Institutes of Health. The report would appropriate funds to the National Institutes of Health and would lift a ban on the use of fetal tissues from induced abortions for medical research. The House voted to approve the legislation, though the vote, 260-148, was not great enough to override a threatened veto by President H.W. Bush. close
