Representative Jolene Unsoeld (D-WA), member of the House Education and Labor Committee, discussed the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, better known as the Earth Summit, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Rep. Unsoeld was part of the congressional delegation to the Earth Summit, and she expressed her frustration at the manner in which the U.S. presented itself at the conference. She went on to discuss the various treaties and agreements being signed at the summit. close
