The president of South Africa and the head of one of its largest political parties spoke near the end of the Convention for a Democratic South Africa, which was seeking a road to restart the stalled negotiations over a new constitution for South Africa. Talks in the convention came to a standstill over the issue of what form of assembly should be assigned the task of writing the constitution. Both leaders laid out their proposals for bringing a new constitution to the country of South Africa. close
