Members of the Senate Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities, the committee that investigated the Watergate conspiracy in the early 1970s, met on Capitol Hill to mark the 20th anniversary of the Watergate break-in. Watergate was the first step on the road to the resignation of President Richard Nixon. The committee members and several persons associated with the investigation briefly spoke to reporters about the resignation and reflected on the lessons of the investigation. close
