The House Labor Subcommittee on Employment Opportunities heard testimony on sexual harassment against women employed in traditionally male occupations. Witnesses included victims of sexual harassment, who discussed the circumstances of their harassment, and members of Congress who discussed legislative and judicial options to deal with the issue of sexual harassment. Issues brought up in the hearing included the “Tailhook incident,” in which male officers in the Navy allegedly manhandled female officers during a Naval convention. close
