Burt Folsom talked about “Identifying Textbook Bias and How to Respond.”

In his remarks, among other topics, he talked about his belief that textbook writers tend to ignore or be disrespectful of Christianity, and portray business as the creators of problems and government as the solver of those problems. Professor Folsom provided several textbook pages to support his argument. He encouraged students to be alert for bias in their history textbooks and to diplomatically point out these biases in their classes. Following his speech, he responded to questions from the audience.

Young America’s Foundation held its 30th National Conservative Student Conference at the Marvin Center of George Washington University for students to learn about conservative ideas seldom taught in college classrooms. This was part of a morning session. close
