Historians Ronald Walker, Richard Turley, Jr., and Glen Leonard talked about their book, Massacre at Mountain Meadows (Oxford University Press). The book recounts the September 11, 1857 massacre in which over 120 emigrant men, women, and children were killed by a Mormon militia in Southern Utah. The authors were given access to previously unseen Mormon records in researching the event. They responded to questions from the audience following their remarks.

Ronald Walker is an independent historian who has written about Latter-day Saints history.

Richard Turley is the Assistant Church Historian for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Glen Leonard is the former director of the Latter-day Saints Museum of Church History and Art. close
