Representative Carolyn Maloney contends in Rumors of Our Progress Have Been Greatly Exaggerated that women are still fighting to gain equal ground with men in the workplace and in political and social circles. She argues that women must guard against initiatives that would repeal gains that appeared secure thirty years ago. Representative Maloney talked about her book at an event hosted by the New York County Lawyers Association.

Carolyn Maloney is the Democratic representative for the 14th District of New York that includes the East Side of Manhattan and Astoria, Queens. She is currently the vice-chair of the Joint Economic Committee and chair of the House Financial Services Committee’s Financial Institutions Subcommittee. Rep. Maloney is serving her seventh term in office. close
