In Unequal Democracy: The Political Economy of the New Gilded Age (Princeton University Press, April 27, 2008) Larry Bartels wrote about how politics drives inequality in America. Professor Bartels and two other experts in the field, Professors Suzanne Mettler and Martin Gilens, spoke on the social implications of rising economic inequality at the Russell Sage Foundation in New York City.
