An Army at Dawn
Rick Atkinson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning former writer and assistant managing editor of the Washington Post. He is the author of An Army at Dawn, Crusade, and The Long Gray Line.
Rick Atkinson talked about his book, An Army at Dawn: The War in Africa, 1942-1943, Volume One of the Liberation Trilogy. It’s a close look at the American and British fighting forces and their battles in Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia against the German and Italian armies. Mr. Atkinson also talked about famous generals from the North Africa campaign including Patton, Eisenhower, Bradley, and Rommel.
