Alice and Philip Shabecoff talked about their book, Poisoned Profits: The Toxic Assault on Our Children (Random House; August 12, 2008]). They contend that there is a link between the high percentage of children of Baby Boomers who are born with or develop health problems and corporate pollution. Following their remarks the authors responded to questions from the audience.

Philip Shabecoff was formerly the chief environmental correspondent for the New York Times. Following his thirty-two year tenure at the newspaper he founded Greenwire, an online site for daily environmental news.

Alice Shabecoff was formerly the executive director of the National Consumers League. She is currently a freelance journalist and has published her writing in several periodicals, including the Christian Science Monitor, the Washington Post, and the New York Times. close
