Civil War historian Noah Andre Trudeau discussed the military campaign of Union General William Tecumseh Sherman and his 60,000 troops from Atlanta to Savannah, Georgia in 1864. General Sherman’s sixty-mile campaign was noted for its destruction and the significant toll it took on the supply lines of the Confederate Army. Noah Andre Trudeau discussed the military tactics and what he contended are the misconceptions of Sherman’s March with Ed Tracy, Executive Producer of Programs at the Pritzker Military Library in Chicago. He answered questions from the audience.

Noah Andre Trudeau is the author of several books on the Civil War, including Southern Storm: Sherman’s March to the Sea and Gettysburg: A Testing of Courage, both published by Harper Publishing. Mr. Trudeau was formerly an executive producer at National Public Radio. close
