Around the World on Two Wheels
Peter Zheutlin is the author of Around the World on Two Wheels: Annie Londonberry’s Extraordinary Ride, published by Citadel Press.
Peter Zheutlin was interviewed by the BookTV Bus crew at the South Carolina Reading Festival. He talked about the biography of Annie Londonberry, formerly known as Annie Kopchovsky. Ms. Londonberry rode a bicycle around the world to show gender equality. She rented out her bicycle and her person to advertisers, including changing her name upon payment by Londonderry Lithia Springs Water Company. Mr. Zheutlin argued that her journey, combined with her advertisements and promotions, made her one of the first female commercial publicity stunt artists.
