H.W. Brands talked about why he wrote Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, when already so many books on President Roosevelt have already been written. He also spoke about the marriage between the President and Eleanor Roosevelt, and how President Roosevelt’s programs changed Americans' expectations of the role of government. Following his remarks, Professor Brands responded to questions from audience members.

Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt presents a comprehensive biography of the thirty-second president, recalling his childhood, his complex relationship with his wife Eleanor, and his presidency.
