Unions and Voting
Bill Samuel and Michael Eastman talked about the Employee Free Choice Act, passed by the House of Representatives last year but stymied in the Senate. The bill aims to make unionization easier; it allows workers to join a union by signing a card rather than go through a secret-ballot election. The bill is called “card check” for short. Mr. Samuel and Mr. Eastman outlined their positions on the issue and responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
