Historian Roberrt Dallek talked about his book Harry S. Truman: The 33rd President, 1945-1953, part of The American Presidents Series (Times Books; September 2, 2008). Mr. Dallek remembers the 33rd president for his 1948 “whistlestop campaign,” America’s introduction to the nuclear age, and his foreign policy decisions that the author contends defined the Cold War.
