During World War II Torpedo Squadron Eight helped an outmatched U.S. fleet win critical victories at Midway and Guadalcanal. These 35 American men--many flying outmoded aircraft--became the war’s most decorated naval air squadron, while suffering the heaviest losses in U.S. naval aviation history. Former Representative Mrazek read passages from the book and showed slides of photographs of the squadron. He talked about the men, the battles, and he also briefly mentioned a military cover up that he exposed in his book of an incident that cost many of their lives.
