Neil Kritz moderated a panel discussion on the displaced persons crisis in Iraq. It is estimated that one in five Iraqis - nearly five million people - has been displaced from their home. As international and internal Iraqi refugees begin to return they find their homes destroyed or occupied by others. The U.S. Institute of Peace Rule of Law Program and the International Organization for Migration have been working with the Iraqi government to facilitate the development of policies and mechanisms to resolve property claims and find durable solutions for the displaced. Panel members responded to audience members' questions following their presentations. close
