Joseph Boardman talked about high-speed rails, congressional funding for Amtrak, and revenue the company generates from its passenger trains. Federal transportation leaders announced last week that the government is seeking contractors to build a $30-40 billion high-speed rail between Washington and New York. The line would be the first of a series of nationwide high-speed rail lines that the government is considering funding. Other rail lines would run the length of California and Florida and spread throughout the Midwest. Mr. Boardman responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
