James Kvaal and Brian Riedl reacted to the previous days' speech by President-Elect Barack Obama on the economy, and they responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. The President-Elect laid out the broad themes of centering the stimulus doubling the production of alternative energy over three years, updating most federal buildings to improve energy efficiency, making medical records electronic, expanding broadband networks and updating schools and universities. There have been estimates of this proposal costing as much as $1 trillion. close
