Representative Hilda Solis testified about her nomination as secretary of labor. In her remarks she spoke about the state of the economy, rising unemployment rates, and the role of government in the current economic crisis. She also said that she will work to expand job training programs, enforce workplace safety, health and fair pay laws and make sure employee pension plans are secure. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer introduced the nominee. close
