The congressionally mandated Troubled Assets Relief Program Oversight Panel heard from experts on the regulation of the financial industry in preparation for a report on the use of government funds to assist the banking and financial markets. They spoke about current regulations, as well as how the existing regulatory structure contributed to the ongoing financial and mortgage crises. They also spoke about the level of transparency in the administration of federal funds and potential legislative restrictions on future loans and grants. close
