Snark David Denby talked about Snark: It’s Mean, It’s Personal, and It’s Ruining Our Conversation (Simon and Schuster; January 13, 2009), his book about the new tone in American conversation, including political discourse and journalism. He traces the history of snark, also known as sarcasm, and argues for its removal from public discourse. He responded to questions from the audience at this lunchtime event held at Dezenhall Resources.

David Denby is a staff writer and film critic for the New Yorker and was formerly film critic of New York magazine. He is also the author of Great Books, which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. close
