Michael Wolff is a Vanity Fair columnist and two-time National Magazine Award winner. He’s also a commentator for CNBC and founder of www.newser.com. Wolff is a former columnist for New York Magazine, as well as the Guardian and Spectator, published in the United Kingdom. He’s the author of Autumn of the Moguls and Burn Rate.
Michael Wolff talked about The Man Who Owns the News: Inside the Secret World of Rupert Murdoch (Publisher: Broadway; December 2, 2008). The book is a look inside the building of Rupert Murdoch’s media conglomerate and the intra-family fight over who will inherit it. The focal point is Mr. Murdoch’s acquisition of the Wall Street Journal, claimed to be his most personally satisfying takeover. Mr. Wolff’s research included several interviews with Mr. Murdoch and his family members. Following his remarks, the author responded to audience members' questions.
