Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner outlined the Obama administration’s new comprehensive financial stability plan to repair the financial system and maintain the flow of credit. In his remarks he spoke about expansion of federal lending programs to banks and businesses, building public-private partnerships to increase lending, provisions in the plan to protect taxpayer investments, oversight and regulatory enforcement of restrictions placed on federal bailout funding, and restoring confidence in financial markets. close
