Trevor Paglen talked and presented slides about his book, Blank Spots on the Map (Dutton Adult; February 5, 2009). He profiles secret U.S. government installations that range from a weapons laboratory in New Mexico to prisons in Kabul and air bases in Georgia and California. Mr. Paglen contends that these clandestine operations maintained by the U.S. government and private corporations operate on a $40 billion annual budget. Following his remarks Mr. Paglen responded to audience members' questions.

Trevor Paglen is the author of Torture Taxi and I Could Tell You But then You Would Have to be Destroyed by Me. His writing has appeared in the Village Voice and the San Francisco Bay Guardian. close
