Trevor Paglen talked and presented slides about his book, Blank Spots on the Map (Dutton Adult; February 5, 2009). He profiles secret U.S. government installations that range from a weapons laboratory in New Mexico to prisons in Kabul and air bases in Georgia and California. Mr. Paglen contends that these clandestine operations maintained by the U.S. government and private corporations operate on a $40 billion annual budget. Following his remarks Mr. Paglen responded to audience members' questions.
