Editor Michael Avery and fellow conributor David Rudovsky talked about the book, We Dissent: Talking Back to the Rehnquist Court, Eight Cases That Subverted Civil Liberties and Civil Rights. In this series of dissenting opinions, written by eight civil rights attorneys, the authors criticize the conservative civil rights and civil liberties decisions of the Rehnquist Court. They develop a constitutional vision that they say insists upon government accountability to its citizens. Topics included federal judicial selection by the Obama administration. They also responded to questions from members of the audience.
