Larry Wilmore is best known as sidekick to Jon Stewart on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” Mr. Wilmore was an actor and stand-up comedian before transitioning to television comedy writing. He’s written for “In Living Color,” "The Fresh Prince of Bel Ait" and “The Jamie Foxx Show.” Mr. Wilmore also created “The Bernie Mac Show” and is co-creator with Eddie Murphy of the animated series “The PJs.”

“The Daily Show’s” Larry Wilmore talked about I’d Rather We Got Casinos and Other Black Thoughts (Hyperion; January 20, 2009). The book contains his musings and ruminations, including the suggested abolition of Black History Month, letters to the NAACP, and a vision for the end of racism. In his remarks he talked about his career, performed bits from his stand up routines, and the late Bernie Mack. Mr. Wilmore responded to questions from audience members following his remarks.
