David Grann talked about and showed slides from The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon (Doubleday, 2009). In the book he recalls the journey of British explorer Percy Fawcett who went missing in the Amazon rainforest in 1925 while searching for the supposed lost city of El Dorado. Mr. Grann recounts the subsequent explorers who ventured into the Amazon in hopes of finding El Dorado and the peril they faced. Following his remarks he responded to audience members' questions.
