Representative and Financial Services Committee member Gary Peters talked about the hearing on federal aid (more than $150 billion) to AIG (American International Group), the bonuses AIG gave its executives, and what the federal government should do about AIG. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. An excerpt from a statement made by Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus was shown at the beginning of the program.

Representative Peters introduced a bill intended to recover executive bonuses in excess of $10,000. Mr. Peters is member of the subcommittee will hear from AIG CEO Edward Liddy and others at Wednesday’s hearing. close
