Dan Ariely talked about his book Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions (HarperCollins; February 19, 2008). Dan Ariely, the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), explained that research shows that people tend to behave irrationally in a predictable fashion. He talked about the implications for economics and social policy. Professor Ariely also answered questions from members of the audience at the Business Breakfast of the Virginia Festival of the Book, held at the Omni Hotel. close
