President Obama talked about his new, comprehensive strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan. The plan called for 4,000 additional personnel to train Afghan security forces and increased U.S. control over daily operations in Afghanistan, reducing the role played by NATO. President Obama also talked about other aspects of Afghanistan policy including formation of a contact group on Afghanistan that included Iran and increased aid to Pakistan to fight terrorism. close
