German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke to reporters and answered questions at the close of the G-20 economic summit. She characterized the agreements reached by the leaders as an “almost historic compromise.” She also talked about measures to subject hedge funds to more scrutiny, reduce protectionism and increase loans available to countries in financial trouble. German Finance Minister Peer Steinbrueck also made remarks.
