White House and Congressional Update

Gail Russell Chaddock and Michael Shear talked about the news of the week and the upcoming week. Ms. Chaddock discussed the return of Congress following a two-week recess and upcoming significant political and legislative issues. Mr. Shear discussed White House and Obama Administration issues, which included President Obama’s trips to Mexico and the Summit of Americas, President Obama’s Georgetown economy speech, and the release of Office of Legal Counsel interrogation memos and President Obama’s decision not to prosecute CIA officials suspected of brutal interrogation methods. Mr. Shear and Ms. Chaddock responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.
