This was the third in a series of roundtable hearings intended to bring health care policy and industry experts together to inform the development of comprehensive health care reform legislation. Witnesses testified about various options for financing health care plans and health insurance reforms.

At the start of the hearing several nurses stood to protest their exclusion from the witness table as supporters of government-run health care programs. Several others in the audience then spoke out in favor of a single-payer system before being removed from the hearing room. close
