Amy Greenberg talked about the spot resolutions offered by Lincoln while he was a Congressman in regards to the U.S.-Mexican War. She talked about the War, Lincoln’s philosophical and legal opposition to the War, and the national political climate at the time. The War was extremely popular at home, greatly damaging the likelihood that he could win a second term. Following her remarks, she answered questions from the audience.
