Panel five of the day-long American Enterprise Institute event titled," China Since Tiananmen: Power, Party, and Society," focused on the Chinese economy. Among the participants were two former Bush Administration Treasury officials and a former IMF (International Monetary Fund). Topics included China’s role in resolving the ongoing global economic crisis, the possible impact of U.S. climate change legislation on China, and China’s ability to generate more domestic trade. Following their discussion they responded to questions from the audience. close
