Representative Marsha Blackburn talked about how Congress and the federal government should respond to General Motors (GM) filing for bankruptcy, and she responded to telephone calls and electronic correspondence. Rep. Blackburn is critical of the way the Obama Administration has handled the problems in the U.S. auto industry. She favored a structured bankruptcy last year and says the bailout has failed. A GM plant in Spring Hill, TN, is to shut down production but will remain on standby. It’s one of 14 GM plants being closed. close
