Julie Andrews and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton, talked about their co-edited book, Julie Andrews' Collection of Poems, Songs, and Lullabies (Little, Brown Young Readers; October 1, 2009), illustrated by James McMullen. They selected classic poems, songs, and lullabies as well as poems written by the authors themselves and contributions from other family members. Julie Andrews introduced each of the nine themed sections with intimate stories and family memories. They also talked about their writing careers, both separately and as collaborators. They both have written children’s books and Julie Andrews has also written a memoir. Topics included how they collaborate, the writing of books for children, poetry, literacy, and Emma Walton Hamilton’s book Raising Bookworms: Getting Kids Reading for Pleasure and Empowerment.
