Michael Luongo talked about the book he edited, Gay Travels in the Muslim World (Harrington Park Press; June 13, 2007). The senior editor of the “Out in the World” gay travel literature series talked about the importance of intercultural understanding and the special problems of understanding homosexuality in other cultures. Topics included stereotypes and the perception of Muslims as homophobic, relating homosexuality to terrorism, and the wide range of cultures in the so-called Muslim world.
