Professor Gates spoke about how personal stories relate to history and showed pictures while talking about tracing his family history. Topics included his African-American heritage, his genealogical work, and President Lincoln’s views of racial issues. He also responded to questions from members of the audience. He was interviewed on stage by Mr. Kogan.
