The panel talked about how the legacies of the American Revolution effected President Abraham Lincoln’s decision making in the Civil War. Topics included a comparison between the two wars, the idea that the Civil War was the Second Revolutionary War, and the concept of universal suffrage in the Lincoln Administration. Following their remarks, they answered questions from the audience.
