President Obama held a prime time news conference in the East Room of the White House. In his opening remarks he outlined his health care reform proposals. He then answered several questions on health care, and focused on methods of funding health care reform, his desired deadline for passing legislation, the responsibility of the two parties for the stalling of the legislative debate, the need to prepare Americans to sacrifice some kinds of medical coverage.
