Prior to President Obama’s prime time news conference, House Minority Leader John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell held a news conference on health care legislation. Senator McConnell stressed that he and other Republican members of Congress want health care reform, but would like a plan that does not delay or ration health care, increase the deficit, and is not government-run. Representative Boehner in his remarks disputed President Obama’s claims that his health care plan would reduce costs and allow people to keep their current plan. close
