Three generations of Americans and Japanese participated in a discussion on the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki 64 years previously. The panel, which included family members of Japanese who were caught in the atomic blast, talked about how the passage of time and other factors affects the perception of historical events. The panelists also responded to quetions from members of the audience. Mary Palevsky, author of Atomic Fragments: A Daughter’s Questions (University of California Press; May 8, 2000), moderated.
